Information on the Complaint Procedure

Everyone has the right to request the provision of digital accessibility of a website, mobile application, or any of its elements. You can also request information to be made accessible through an alternative method, such as reading a digitally inaccessible document, describing the content of a video without audio description, etc. The request should include the requester’s details, specify the website or mobile application in question, and provide contact information. If the requester requires information in an alternative format, they should also specify the preferred method of receiving this information. The public entity should fulfill the request immediately, no later than within 7 days from the date of the request. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the public entity should promptly inform the requester when the request will be fulfilled, with a deadline not exceeding 2 months from the date of the request. If ensuring digital accessibility is not possible, the public entity may propose an alternative method of access to the information. If the public entity refuses to fulfill the request for digital accessibility or an alternative method of access to the information, the requester can file a complaint regarding the digital accessibility of the website, mobile application, or element thereof. After exhausting the above-mentioned procedure, you can also submit a request to the Commissioner for Human Rights (Rzecznik Praw Obywatelskich).


Architectural Accessibility

The State Archive in Suwałki, in addition to its headquarters, has 1 branch in Ełk.

The State Archive in Suwałki consists of 4 interconnected buildings (A, C, D, E) forming a rectangular complex. Inside, there is a courtyard paved with cobblestones. The courtyard features a parking space for people with disabilities, providing access to the internal entrance to the Archive, leading to the customer service area. The Archive can be entered from two sides: from Popiełuszki Street through a stone-paved gate (which may pose difficulties for individuals using crutches or wheelchairs) and from Kościuszki Street. The entrance is well lit with street lighting, and there is a designated parking space for people with disabilities right at the entrance. A doorbell is installed on the main entrance of the Archive. The customer service area is located to the right of the main entrance and can be reached via three steps. The Archive has a stair lift allowing access to the customer service area. This area includes a passenger elevator, a fully accessible restroom, and a relaxation area. An information board is located to the left of the main entrance. The building does not have displays, videotext, pictograms, Braille signage, contrast signage, or large print for blind and visually impaired individuals. There is no induction loop or access to sign language interpreters on-site. However, the customer service area ensures conversation in a quiet and friendly space, with staff providing necessary information and assistance. Additionally, all matters can be handled by mail or email. Access to the Archive’s reading room is from the courtyard, with an intercom at the inner doors. Next to the reading room, there is a relaxation area, a fully accessible restroom, and a cloakroom. Access with assistance dogs is possible. There is no sign language interpreter available on-site or online.


State Archive in Suwałki Branch in Ełk ul. Armii Krajowej 17A 19-300 Ełk

The main entrance to the Ełk branch is located at Armii Krajowej 17, through a gate. There is a wheelchair-accessible ramp at the entrance, along with a ramp for strollers. The customer service point is located on the ground floor of the branch and offers a conversation in a quiet and friendly space, with staff providing necessary information and assistance. Additionally, all matters can be handled by mail or email. There are no displays, videotext, pictograms, Braille signage, contrast signage, or large print for blind and visually impaired individuals in the building. There is no induction loop or access to sign language interpreters on-site. However, the customer service point ensures conversation in a quiet and friendly space, with staff providing necessary information and assistance. Additionally, all matters can be handled by mail or email. A publicly accessible restroom for people with disabilities is located on the ground floor of the building. The restroom doors have a width of 90 cm. Dispensers, soap, hand dryers, and towels are positioned at heights that allow their use by individuals in wheelchairs. Access with assistance dogs is possible. There is no sign language interpreter available on-site or online.
